Postcard Prints (Limited Edition One-of-a-Kind Design)

Announcing a Limited Edition Set of One-of-a-kind Designed Postcard Prints

Since I’m always on the road traveling and making photos during my 100 City Project, it only made sense to create some Postcard Prints from my images. So I did just that!

These postcards were designed by myself with a detailed back showcasing my original travel and street postcard theme and a glossy front showcasing a selection of my more popular images (inside a classy white border). These aren’t your normal postcards, either. I made sure to have them professionally printed with the highest quality out there, in thick stock and a larger 5×7 size. They honestly came out even better than I hoped for so it’s time to start mailing them out. There are 12 images to choose from and each was made in a one time run of only 10. Never to be produced again.

For fun, you can choose to have it mailed with the full postcard treatment too. That means post office stamped and travel tested from wherever I am in the world. Of course, if you want it to arrive in pristine condition, I’ll mail it protected inside an envelope. Your choice!

It could be Captured in the parks of London, England and Mailed from the ghats of Varanasi, India. What Postcard Print will you choose and where will I mail it from?..

Details:

  • Each printed in a Limited Edition of 10. Will never be reproduced.
  • Postcard backs designed by myself. Photo Print fronts captured by myself (white border added).
  • Individually Numbered and Signed, including the location the photo was both taken and mailed from.
  • You choose if you want it mailed with the full postcard treatment (stamped and travel tested) or in an envelope for protection.
  • Full post card treatment includes a personalized note from me just like a postcard should (can request w/ packaged order too).

Price (shipping included w/ full postcard treatment):

  • $15 each
  • 3 for $40
  • 5 for $60
  • All 12 for $120

Below you’ll find the Postcard Prints ordered by number. Just input your name and email address in the form below, along with the print number(s), how many you want, and mailing address. Please also check if you’d like it sent with the full postcard experience or if you’d prefer it protected in an envelope. I will send you a PayPal invoice and get your order mailed out to you as soon as payment is received and details are confirmed.

Thank you!

-Forrest

33 Street Photography Photos from Two Weeks in London, England

After Paris and a quick flight, came City #36 London, England on my 100 Cities Project. Following Paris with London provided the two most visited cities in the world back to back. And maybe the most photographed too, especially for street photography. Fortunately, London is so packed with a variety of neighborhoods full of their own character and a blend of antiquity and urban vibrance, there are still endless places to shoot. From the West End to the East End, London provides one of my favorite cities to visit for photography.

So here’s 33 photos that I was able to capture during my time in London…

33 Street Photography Photos from One Week in Paris, France

After Amsterdam and a short train ride, came city #35 Paris, France on my 100 Cities Project. Commonly recognized as the birthplace of street photography, there’s no city as romanticized and photographed as Paris. The truth is there are plenty of sides to the city that you don’t see in most of the photos, though. With so much character, Paris still manages to give you plenty of material to capture.

So here’s 33 photos that I was able to capture during my time in Paris…

33 Street Photography Photos from One Week in Amsterdam, Netherlands

After stopping in Stockholm and Copenhagen, I made my way out of Scandinavia and down to Amsterdam. The city is known for its free and sinful side, but I also enjoyed it’s more peaceful side walking the many canals with my camera. For street photography it’s a unique experience and wide mixture of character. From canal parties to picnics, bicycles and flowers to coffee shops and red light windows, there’s no place like Amsterdam.

So here’s 33 photos that I was able to capture during my time in Amsterdam, Netherlands…

33 Street Photography Photos from Ten Days in Stockholm and Copenhagen

33-stockholm-copenhagen-cover

Due to budget and time constraints, I couldn’t spend as long as I wanted up in Scandinavia, but I was able to fit 5 days each in Stockholm and Copenhagen. While they share some similarities, they’re very different cities with their own vibes and atmosphere. Stockholm has more beauty and nature, all with a very organized urban feeling around the city, while Copenhagen has a little more edge and vibrance, along with more tourism. The highlight for me, though, was meeting local Stockholm photographers Jimmy Dovholt and Ola Billamont, along with Matt Obrey, who was also visiting. But both cities gave a relaxing atmosphere and great walkability for exploring the city with my camera.

For this edition of 33 street photos, I decided to combine these two cities in one post. So here’s 33 photos that I was able to capture during my time in Stockholm and Copenhagen…

33 Street Photography Photos from One Week in Moscow, Russia

33-moscow-cover

After one of my best experiences of the year shooting in Saint-Petersburg, it was a difficult follow for my next stop in Russia’s capital. Still, Moscow doesn’t disappoint. While not as photogenic of a city as Saint-Petersburg (not many are), Moscow brings a bigger mix of urban, cosmopolitan city with a blend of European influence and Russian character that brings its own atmosphere. At over 12 million people, Moscow is the second largest city in Europe by population, and it can feel even bigger.

So here’s 33 photos that I was able to capture during my time in Moscow…

Street Shot Sundays
Photo of the Week:
“Lakeside Gym”

Street Shot Sundays Story & Stats

Story:

This Sunday’s Street Shot of the Week was taken at Hoàn Kiếm Lake in Hanoi, Vietnam. Hoan Kiem Lake is one of my favorite spots in the city. Right in the heart of Hanoi, it’s one of the more unique city lakes you’ll find with the amount and variety of activity it attracts. The morning has a more calm and peaceful atmosphere, while the day gets busier with tourists and locals until night when it can become the most active and crowded.

Just before sunset is my favorite time to come here. This is also when the lakeside gym fills up with a mix of characters coming to workout. In the evening, old gym equipment is brought out in small area lining the lake. Complete with free weights and everything, there’s a group of regulars that come ready to workout. They take it serious too.

It’s a humorous spectacle that attracts plenty of tourist camera phone pics from afar. With my flash, I decided to get up in the middle of it all, though. After a few photos and laughs, it was clear they didn’t mind at all (Although, they did have me get in a set on the bench before I was fully accepted).

Below are a few pics I made while hanging out at Hanoi’s lakeside gym.

Stats:

  • Camera: Fujifilm Xpro1
  • Lens: Fujinon XF 18mm
  • Focal Length: 18mm (27mm full frame equivalent)
  • Aperture: f/11
  • Shutter Speed: 1/60
  • ISO: 800
  • Flash: Fujifilm EF-X20

Hare Island: Summer in Saint-Petersburg, Russia

hare-island-cover

Summer on Hare Island

If I was to pick my favorite city I visited this year for photography, it might be Saint-Petersburg, Russia. While maybe surprising to some with all the cities I visited in 2016, most of those surprised probably haven’t been. Saint-Petersburg is a special city unlike any other.

It was actually my second time in the city, but my first time visiting during the summer. And if you’re planning on visiting, the time of the year makes a big difference. With its location so high north, the length of the days range greatly depending on the month. So not only is the weather much better during the summer, the daylight also lasts 20+ hours. On top of that, the city really comes alive once June hits.

Zayachy Island

Saint-Petersburg was originally built on 101 islands. After some engineering in the early 20th century, it was reduced down to 42 islands connected to each other by bridges and canals. This is a big part of what gives the city such a beautiful, interesting and unique atmosphere.

Hare Island from across the river

Zayachy Island, also known as “Hare Island,” is a very small island in the center of Saint-Petersburg connected by two pedestrian bridges. In 1703, Peter the Great began construction of the Peter and Paul fortress here, which is a big tourist draw today. The grass, sand and stone surrounding the fortress is also a popular spot for the locals, especially in the summer. They come to lay out in the sun, take a dip in the water and enjoy the city view by the river.

The large grass area fills up with activity, but the most interesting spot is around the fortress where you’ll find a more secluded area with a large fort wall and stone shore. Since the wall faces the sun, it heats up and becomes a warm spot for locals to lay against in relaxation. Combined with the mix of characters it attracts, it can create a very interesting, slightly surreal scene. I found it so unique that I came back here multiple times during my visit to Saint-Petersburg.

Here’s a short series of photos I made while experiencing some of Saint-Petersburg’s summer heat on Hare Island.

33 Street Photography Photos from One Week in Saint-Petersburg, Russia

saint-petersburg-33-cover

I don’t hide my love for Saint-Petersburg, Russia. If you asked me to pick 3 cities anywhere in the world that I’d like to return for street photography, Saint-Petersburg would make the cut without hesitation. So much so that I do plan on returning for a longer stay this year.

While I’d been before, this last visit was my first time during the summer. The 20+ hours of sunlight and warmer weather really brings the beautiful city to life, and all the character it contains. I could go on and on about all the things I love about the city, but I’ll save that for other posts. This one is about the photos.

So here’s 33 photos that I was able to capture during my time in Saint-Petersburg…

Street Shot Sundays
Photo of the Week:
“Smile”

Street Shot Sundays Story & Stats

Story:

This Sunday’s Street Shot of the Week was taken in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, Vietnam. Hanoi’s Old Quarter is not only its historic district and major tourist area, but also the center of the city’s downtown life. The Old Quarter is how you picture Vietnam many years ago. The French-colonial architecture and shop-houses are preserved from centuries ago, while still showing their age. Most of the buildings are narrow and low to the ground, and with activity moving in every direction around you, there’s a feeling of life compacted around you where ever you go.

I was walking around the busy center of the Old Quarter near Bia Hoi Corner when I noticed the bright yellow dress of a woman walking into a messy street corner market. Looking down, I also noticed a small dog tied up outside. The dog’s face had a natural smile and decided to walk up for a photo. The yellow dress and high heels, the sidewalk mess of boxes and the little smiling dog all came together into an interesting, slightly humorous scene for me. So I took this shot just as the dog looked at me with that smile. I was even able to include some more yellow from a case of Larue, my favorite cheap local beer in Vietnam :)

Stats:

  • Camera: Fujifilm Xpro1
  • Lens: Fujinon XF 18mm
  • Focal Length: 18mm (27mm full frame equivalent)
  • Aperture: f/8
  • Shutter Speed: 1/500
  • ISO: 1600
