I’m from Miami, Florida
I’m attracted to shadow and light with a punch of color but I basically walk around, observing my environment, hoping for all the elements that make a good street photograph, merge so I can freeze it in time.
I was first introduced to Street Photography back in 1997. My professor at the time, a Magnum photographer, was teaching us “The Picture Story.” Though it was predominantly documentary, he showed us works of Kertesz, HCB, Winny. I was hooked.

Street photography is what makes you go to the same place and nonetheless get always new images… is life. It’s luck and patience as well, but it can be very rewarding.

People in the street, or anything in an urban setting that moves and that I find pleasing or worth capturing as a still image.
Got into street photography as a way to relax from my daily work as a web/application developer. Shooting street allows me to walk more rather than spend time in front of a screen most of the time.

Lukas Beinstein says
My name is Lukas Beinstein.
I am from Vienna, Austria.
Like the most people here, I am a “street photographer”, but in my opinion a street photograph is not just about the street or the people, it is about the emotions and feelings this photograph brings with it.
I started photography as Landscape photographer and traveled to Norway to photograph the Northern lights, after that I worked as freelance-portrait photographer. If I do something I always do it intensly, also the portrait photography. So after one year I decided to quit this job, because I wanted to take photos I wanted to take and not photograph what the client wants. I also wanted to spend more time out shooting and not just editing at home in front of my PC. So I started street photography and it is totally what I love about photography.
I found your page because of the interview with Markus Enrico Essl. I would be also very interested to give you an interview If you like.
Oh yeah, you can see my works here: http://www.lukasbeinstein.com

and discovering the magic of the darkroom, without thinking about it my fascination with humans and my photography simply dovetailed together naturally and my street photography was born. It is now over 50 years old.

What I like to shoot : Street Photography
I got started into street photography shooting candid’s here an there. I then began to challenge myself to think about not just the subject but to look at the background and the overall composition before I hit the trigger. As I got better at my craft I became addicted to the whole process. I found this site on Facebook.

I’d define it “human landscape”. Everything that looks human or humanized, expressive, communicative. My “aim” is to find humanity even in the most unexpected things of our everyday life and how humans humanize objects, cities, relationships, situations… and of course themselves!
Don’t remember how I got into street photography, probably just traveling and noticing that actually the most surprising thing was looking at the people around… and finding out day by day the most famous photographers’ work. I like Maier, Klein and Frank most.

What you like to shoot: Street, Sports, People and pretty much anything.
How you got into Street Photography: I was asked by a friend to shoot a reportage style wedding which was going to be new to me. I thought what better way to get in some practice than start shooting street. Street combined with sports has made me look for tiny moments when something happens. I try and look for humorous or weird situations if possible.

What you like to shoot: Coffeehouses and Street
How you got into Street Photography: In November 2014, I started a shoot-every-day project advocated by The Online Photographer who called it the “Digital Variant” of Cartier-Bresson’s dictum to use the same camera, same lens, same film, and same paper on which to print. This was: same camera, same prime lens, and one print every day for a year. When you try to shoot every day, you cannot really roam too far from home. So, almost daily, I walk to one of many coffeehouses, looking and shooting all the while.

What you like to shoot:
Street, Weddings and Landscapes
How you got into Street Photography:
As a regular commuter and worker in London it’s hard to avoid street photography. As all photographers will attest you eventually begin to see all scenes and activities in the street and in every day life as a photograph, or you at least imagine the frame or photograph you’d have made has you had your camera. Years ago, as a wedding photographer I shot with an all Canon setup; the multitude of lenses and bodies made for a back-breaking bag! I tried out the OM-D E-M5 from Olympus and fell in love. A year after that I went all-in with Olympus and now own a plethora of cameras and lenses that have neatly and completely replaced my old Canon setup. A side bonus was of course that the more compact and subtle nature of the Olympus better lent itself to street photography, pushing me more into that genre on my commute and my long days in the city. I’ve led numerous photo walks around the British Capital and amassed quite the portfolio.

Anything else you want to add: I was intriqued by the ABOUT page “Where Travel and Street Meet”. I like to travel and more and more, my trips are becoming photography trips. I get a true feeling of a place by photographing the people and street scenes, and I believe that if I can capture that, then years from now, I will be able to look at the photos and re-live those feelings. I have my own blog at the site mentioned above, and also make photo books, with the best photos and travel journal notes.

I am a photographer that usually delves into urban or street photography; I consider this passion an ongoing project. It has definitely been the most challenging form of work in my eyes, and is in my opinion one of the purest forms of photography. It’s all about the discovery of unnamed situations transformed into framed images that surround us at all times, with no purpose other than showing the mundane view of the world; ultimately to tickle a little more than just the pleasure of the photographer.

Hi Walker.
I live 40 miles south of London, UK.
I got into street photography by picking up a book at a cafe, of all things and thought that I’d like to have a go at it. I massively underestimated how difficult it was but I have fun trying, meeting new people with similar mindsets and I want to learn/evolve, which is how I found about you.

Hi Everyone, I’m Patrick Noone, I shoot street photography and have done since 11 years old, my first ever pic’ was from a Diana plastic camera of my mother going out as a learner driver on her own, I developed it in my wardrobe with plenty of light leaks lol but got a print, my mother bought it off me, and the neg for 10/- so my dad did not see it and go mad at her for driving on her own as a learner, I was hooked for life.
I live in the North West of England, I’m retired now and record life as I see it. I was the only man ever allowed behind cloisters to record 2 days in the life of the poor Clairs nuns many years ago, it took me 3 years to get permission of constant harassing the Archbishop and he finally gave in lol.
